My Experiments with Life

I believe that many of us would have tried to understand Life and its significance more than once and in many ways and left it to its nature and moved ahead without getting the clear picture. Even I have experienced this several times. This time let us put a collective effort in experimenting ‘Life’ in the laboratory of this world, observing it through the brain’s microscope and let us write our thesis based on that knowledge and observations.

If Life is Cinema
Did you ever wished that someone else should write a story for you, sing for you in the playback and someone should cast you in their film? Or you have dreamt this always?

Let me tell you a secrete. In fact, this world it self is a theatre. Here we have our own movie; our name itself is the name of the movie too. We are the lead actor actresses (heroes /heroines) of this movie. This very Life is the script that God has written for us. He casted us because we perfectly suite this role.

To our surprise, we are in the limelight from the first breathe on this earth to the last heart beat, our speeches are the dialogues, our brave steps, decisions are the actions. We should look after that our film doesn’t flop.

If Life is Maths

It’s addition of joy and happiness, subtraction of sorrow/distress, multiplication of will and effort, quotient of memories, reminder of experiences. Sometimes it looks like tough algebra and its formulas; some other times it is geometry of palmistry.

If Life is Monthly Salary

First day of salary is like birth, worry less childhood is the synonym for first week, the youth’s feeling of buying everything they like or dream about, can be compared with the second week. Re-looking at the expenditure after getting the sense of financial imbalance is the third week. The old age, where searching for things and time after loosing them is the example for fourth week. Last four days of the moth are as if dying for the air in coma.

Scope of Life

To few people, it is daily fight for filling their belly, for few others, it is extravaganza (wasting food), to some others, it is worry that how to digest the food. To few, it is issue of covering their body, to few others, it is matter of show-off. To few, it is search for shelter, to few others it’s business (selling homes).

Thumb Rule for Happy Life

Recently an interview of an aged author was telecasted on the television. Accidentally, I happened to watch it. The interviewer asked the writer secret of his good health and enthusiasm even at the age of 88. The writer’s reply was very interesting. He told, “I do light exercises and pranayama daily and take limited and fixed quantity food. Above all these cares, I never think more about neither about others nor any problem than the attention they deserve from me. I never even think much, that what others think about me and my writings/actions. Do, you know why?” he asked the interviewer and continued, “because about whom we are thinking, worried about, might be tasting masala dosa at this moment”. How true it is? It is good if we also practise the same formula to over come our tensions, right?

Building-blocks of our Life

Though our Life is ours, but, there lot of visible and invisible hands contribution is there in making, what it is today. Mother, who shared her soul and body; Father, who gave a good Life; Guru, who gave meaning to the Life; Spouse, who accompanies throughout the ups and downs of Life; Children, who considers us (parents/elders) as idols; above this lot of others, who touched our Lives in one or the other way. All these people are reason for our character, our attitude and our existence.

Then comes the circumstances which changed our Life, The memories which melted our strong heart and the navigating boards on the Life’s road, which gave a turn to our Life and made us, forget the past, all are important.

Lastly, the God, the Almighty. He is the Father, Mother, a real Friend, in fact, he is everything. He is the one walks with us when the whole world turn their back towards us in the times of sorrows, problems. Without him there is no Life.

The Role of Problems and Happiness in Our Life

Out of many faces of Life, gaining happiness, joy and accumulating wealth are also few important facets. But, if we get everything easily, whatever we want/aspire for, then there is fun will be left in Life! It will be boring.

If we get proper hits (problems) on our Life’s marble then only it will become a beautiful sculpture. Happiness makes us lazy, where as problems make us strong and courageous. Let the happiness be there, but, how come it’s possible to say we do not want the problems/risks at all? Let us pray God to provide us the strength to challenge and fight back the problems.

Conclusion

Life is continuous journey of soul. It has no formal start and end. Experimenting and describing each fold of Life is impossible. Yes, even I do agree. My intention is not to count the drops in an ocean like Life, rather it is experimenting the water there in my hands. It means, I tried to express my thoughts about Life in my own way.

The Life wins our heart by being with us continuously throughout our journey. It’s like Asian Paints. These are my colours, you come with your colours; together we will paint our Lives beautifully.

Kalyan Kulkarni
